This year, NISGUA is celebrating 40 years of accompaniment, cross-border organizing, and relationship-building. It is an honor to be a part of this lineage. In celebration of these four decades, NISGUA has an opportunity to raise $100,000 to sustain our people-to-people organizing for social and environmental justice. We're committed to helping NISGUA meet this goal and have challenged ourselves to raise $5,000. Can we count on your support?
Right now, NISGUA’s work is more critical than ever. NISGUA accompanies Guatemalan water and land protectors and genocide survivors who are under increasing threat for their work for justice and self-determination. NISGUA provides international accompaniment to dissuade violence and threats; facilitates connections between communities similarly impacted by extractivism and colonialism; organizes campaigns against destructive US foreign policy and corporate violence in Central America; and mobilizes people for urgent actions when human rights defenders are threatened or attacked.
In short, NISGUA’s work has never been more important.
