[English below] Hace 10 meses tomé la decision de mudarme a Guatemala y trabajar con NISGUA, una organización con mas de 40 años de presencia solidaria en Guate.
Es parte de mi trabajo acompañar a organizaciones de sobrevivientes del Conflicto Armado Interno, quienes lideran décadas de lucha en contra de la impunidad y el olvido. Ha sido un honor aprender aunque sea un poquito de ellas, acuerparlas y hermanarme con el entendido que, a pesar de los distintos tiempos y contextos históricos, la lucha por la justicia en caso de desapariciones forzadas y los crímenes de lesa humanidad, me tocan profundamente no sólo por la historia de mi propio país, si no también como latinoamericanista e internacionalista.
Para mí, NISGUA es un ejemplo de cómo para la solidaridad no existen tiempos, distancias ni barreras geográficas y que la lucha será internacionalista o no será. En medio de la tormenta global que se avecina , y justo como respuesta ante ella, espero que puedan apoyarnos aunque sea simbólicamente en lograr la sostenibilidad económica del trabajo de NISGUA a largo plazo.

10 months ago I made the decision to move to Guatemala and work with NISGUA, an organization with more than 40 years of solidarity in Guatemala.It is part of my job to accompany organizations of survivors of the Internal Armed Conflict, who lead decades of struggle against impunity and forgetfulness. It has been an honor to stand with them and unite with the understanding that, despite the different times and historical contexts, the fight for justice in case of forced disappearances and crimes against humanity, touches me deeply, not only for the history of my own country, but also as a Latin American and internationalist.
For me, NISGUA is an example of how there are no times, distances or geographical barriers to solidarity and that the fight will be internationalist or it will not be. In the midst of the coming global storm, and just in response to it, I hope that you can support us even symbolically in achieving the long-term economic sustainability of NISGUA's work.
