Frank Scoffield Sánchez's Fundraiser
Help me keep organizing solidarity!
From Guatemala to Pasadena to Palestine, we're all connected!
This is my fifth (5!!) year fundraising with NISGUA and I can hardly believe it!
For 45 years, NISGUA has organized international solidarity and provided human rights accompaniment to Indigenous communities and leaders in Guatemala as they fight for justice, land, and dignity. I joined NISGUA in 2022 as the world unraveled: COVID, Gaza, AI, Trump 2.0... Each has made my work equal parts challenging, rewarding, and necessary.
Today, I’m convinced that the time is ripe for a renaissance of the Guatemala solidarity movement, and NISGUA is positioned perfectly to be a major catalyst.
I want to be a part of this but I need you – over 90% of our budget comes from individuals giving $500 or less per year!
I need your help to reach my goal of $4,000 by May 31 – if we make it, NISGUA receives $8,000 thanks to a small group of donors who’s promised to double every dollar!
I leave you with three highlights of my time with NISGUA in hopes that it inspires you to give :)
- 2023 Trans-Territorial Gathering – Historic, 3-day in-person meeting between Indigenous justice, land defense, immigrant rights, and international solidarity organizations from Guatemala and the U.S.
- 2024 Interview Series: Seeds of Life: Guatemala Beyond Elections – The only English language interview series centering Indigenous people’s analysis on Guatemala’s Indigenous-led, 106-day national strike for democracy
- 2025 Generations in Struggle – Speaking tour across North Carolina for Indigenous Xinka water protector to share about her people’s successful struggle against a transnational corporation
Thank you for your love and support! <3
