Support NISGUA's internationalist accompaniment in the larger movement for justice and liberation for all!

It’s been almost a decade since I was introduced to NISGUA and the word accompaniment became part of my regular vocabulary. Since then, and after more than 5 years with NISGUA, I’ve integrated the praxis of accompaniment into my personal, professional, and organizing life. NISGUA’s commitment to its decades-long relationships with our partnering organizations combined with an ever-evolving analysis of the historical systems of oppression at the root of the poverty, displacement, and even genocide against those we accompany is radically unique.

I've been transformed by this organization and its people and I know many others have as well. By making a gift today, you are a part of this transformation. Every dollar counts, and from May 15-31, every gift up to $50,000 will be matched dollar for dollar!

This year in particular, I have been grateful to be a part of an internationalist organization that prioritizes making connections between struggles globally. As a long-awaited genocide trial against Benedicto Lucas Garcia, former head of the Guatemalan army between 1978 and 1982, began in April, the connections between what is happening in Palestine and what took place (and in some ways continues to take place) in Guatemala feels deeply present. NISGUA has not shied away from taking a stance in a moment that is rife with conflict. We know too well the significance of naming genocide and doing everything we can to bring it to a halt.

You can read our statement in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle here. I also highly recommend this webinar that took place before the current Ixil genocide trials began.

To continue bridging struggles across territories and transforming our accompaniment of land defenders and survivors of genocide in Guatemala, we need your support. Thank you for investing in this important work and for helping me reach my goal!
