Join Amanda and Val in supporting real change and transformative cross-border solidarity. Your donation makes a huge difference for the Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala (NISGUA).
By donating, you become a crucial part of NISGUA's efforts to:
- Accompany transitional justice processes for crimes during Guatemala’s Internal Armed Conflict. Landmark cases are being brought before national and international courts, such as the Ixil Genocide Case and Diario Militar Case, while communities undertake commemorations and actions to dignify the victims, and honor truth and memory.
- Accompany Indigenous human rights and environmental defenders in Guatemala who face persecution for protecting water, land and life. They do so in defiance of state and private actors who use violence to push harmful mega-plans and projects, such as the Xalalá hydroelectric plant and PanAmerican Silver's mine that threaten the sovereignty of Indigenous Peoples.
- Build connections between partners in Guatemala and communities in the U.S. who share similar struggles rooted in colonialism. Through actions, trans-territorial gatherings, teach-ins, delegations and analysis, we challenge harmful U.S. foreign policy and stop corporate violence in Central America.
- Mobilize urgent actions to protect and defend the lives and rights of leaders targeted by criminalization or threats, as well as their families.
