Exhibiting beautiful graffiti art from the very first public hearing against Efraín Ríos Montt in January 2012, this solidarity tee is a colorful addition to your wardrobe and a great way to show your support for NISGUA.
The graffiti image was created by local Guatemalan artist Primis1 and powerfully displays the words “Exigimos Justicia” or “We Demand Justice” – vibrantly calling for the genocide trial, which came to fruition this spring 2013 and found Ríos Montt guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity. While Guatemala's Constitutional Court overturned the sentence, it remains an internationally recognized historic document validating the search for justice undertaken by the Association for Justice and Reconciliation and Guatemalan social movements for over 30 years.
The colorful image is paired with a beautiful black-and-white drawing of an ear of corn. Each kernel shows a face of someone who has given their life to the struggle for justice in Guatemala. The artists of both images were happy to share their work with our network of solidarity supporters.
Our "Exigimos Justicia" shirts are printed on 100% cotton, sweatshop-free, heather-grey adult sized t-shirts. All prices include shipping and handling.
